My friends call me Sitka. I am 28 years old, and live in Portland, OR. I identify as a galactivist with egyptian & african resonance. I feel strong kinship with treefrogs and herons. I gots the big love for Pachamama, Lago Atitlan, Horsethief Butte, the Yucatan Peninsula, Peru, Sedona, Northern Cali, old growth forests, rivers, cenotes, and indigenous textiles. I was born in Ohio, went to college in Michigan, and have lived on the west coast for nearly 5 years. I am a gypsy, poet, vocalist, writer, energy worker, dakini, body therapist, ecstatic dancer and have been an artisan of leather work, jewelry, and web / graphic design. My process of being alive has lead to self-discovery, awareness of my innate authentic self, awareness of my creative gifts & spiritual powers as well as my soul's purpose for being alive on this planet. I am grateful to have been lead through pathways of initiation into deeper states of awakening, and remembering why I am alive. I am grateful for all the ecstatic and miserable pathways I've been lead through, that have brought me here to this beautiful point in my life where I live in community with dear beloved sisters, have a community of amazing beautiful friends, and am continually given opportunities to take life to the next level and grow! I am doing my best to step into my next level of embodying my soul's work, which is leading me through many transitions and is teaching me how to die and be reborn over and over again. My greatest joy is vocal expression. I am a vocalist, specializing in overtone singing, polyrhythmic chanting, harmonics and toning. I have a wide range and have been singing my entire life. I use vocal toning, in conjunction with movement meditation and prayer to bring balance into my body and energy body. I began singing hymns in church as a child and moved onwards to being a folk singer-songwriter for six years during college. But it was being initiated into Reiki that taught me how to channel songs from the spiritual realm. I began hearing old goddess women whispering into my ears as I did Reiki energy work. Reiki took my vocal life to the next level and taught me harmonics, vibration, energy sensitivity, full body multidimensional ecstasy and channelling. In the last seven years, my singing has become my method for reaching deep meditative states of pure mind, allowing me to pray and focus intention into the vocal tones, thus allowing me to become activated. Ecstatic dance, yogic movement, bodywork, psychedelics and ecstatic sexuality have also been major teachers for me during the last 8 years of intense mystical devotion work. I have been taught by spirit how to move to allow full body energy releases from meditative movement, how to move kundalini energy, how to pray, how to embody prayer through movement and how to reach transcendental states on a daily basis. Plant Spirit Medicines have become a major teacher for me recently, during my journey to Peru, where I've shared in sacred circles with Peruvian Shamans. Doing a lot of deep inner process work the last few years has forced me to confront seemingly every aspect of my unconscious shadow self that I was in denial about my entire life up to that point. As a result of my journeys, I feel happier, generally peaceful, filled with gratitude and bliss on an almost incessant basis, and always in deep moments of love for life. I feel that my "boss" is the Universe. I'm doing my best to step out of the way and allow spirit to come in, to be dedicated to doing the work of embodying spirit in this world. I feel that I am just one tiny drop of an enormous wave of beings waking up to their authentic self and discovering that they're here to do the same work, all for the sake of bringing balance and healing to this out of balance world. Hopefully we will be synchronistically guided to work together, to co-create an envisioned Planet Earth; an earth of peace, support and nurturance for all, and sustainability. I believe healing on planet Earth begins with consciousness, and I see signs of activated inspiration and creative hope-builders everywhere I go, creating the next level paradigm every day. |
